Abbeymead Rovers Gladiators v Hucclecote Flyers
Friendly Match
Saturday 1st December 2007 at Home
The Warriors should feel proud to be invited for a 'friendly' match against a team from the North League, having early in the season beaten their team in the Central League, the Hucclecote Knights.
The Knights controlled the first half showing great control of the ball and understanding of the importance of position and space. They scored three times in the first half with only a few half-hearted attempts in response. The second half was very different, the Warriors came out fighting with an excellent goal by Aiden Bonehill followed by another by Michael Assheton. A few moments lapse in concentration let the Flyers get another goal but the Warriors lifted their game and with the return of a lot of excellent control and passing, Aiden Bonehill scored another good goal. Try as they may, despite the continued attack, another goal did not come. The match ended with a win by the visitors 3-4.
