Abbeymead Rovers Gladiators v Kings Stanley United
Mid Glos Mini Soccer - Central League
Saturday 13th October 2007
After (this time!) an uneventful journey to a new venue, Leonard Stanley, the game against Kings Stanley started well with an early goal by Ben Vallender taking advantage of the downward slope. Although it was a well-contested game with a lot of awareness of other team members and good passing, Kings Stanley took advantage of the teams relaxation and scored three back by half time.
In the second half the Gladiators battled well up the slope but other than a good goal by Michael Assheton with some good support, Kings Stanley showed some equally good passing skills with good shooting skills which resulted in the Gladiators losing their first game of the season 2-7. The Gladiators look forward to the return match later in the season.
Players of the Match: Abbeymead Rovers Gladiators - Michael Assheton; Kings Stanley United - Dan Dixon
