Swindon Village Bowmen Yellows 1 Abbeymead Falcons 1 (Falcons win 4-3 on penalties)

This was the quarter final of the cup and both teams gave 110% during the whole game.

The first half was end to end with excellent passing, running and tackling from both sides. The two defenses and goalkeepers playing at their best to keep the score 0-0 at half time.

Swindon Village pushed hard in the first part of the second half and from a strong shot just outside the area hit the post. Abbeymead continued their strong passing game creating several chances. Five minutes before the end of the game Lee Harris controlled the ball inside the box and drove the ball into the back of the net. Swindon Village pushed hard and with the last kick of the game scored from just outside the box with a shot across the goalkeeper into the bottom corner.

Extra time was the same end to end game with excellent football creating several chances and the defenses holding on against the pressure to finish the game at 1-1.

The penalty shoot out saw Swindon Village start one up, but Matthew Sutton saved two crucial penalties at the end to give Abbeymead the win 4-3 on penalties.

Well played to both teams and thanks to the referee Darren Brown who kept the game moving.
