Abbeymead started the game well; with Ben Langworthy and Matthew Kent battling well up front. Sam Benzie played well in centre midfield, with Kieran Gittings playing well on the left of midfield, providing Langworthy with some good passes. Sam Benzie broke into the Highnam penalty area, and passed to Matt Kent. His shot was brilliantly saved, before Benzie followed up to finish what he had started. Jay Singhera and Danny Witcombe played excellently in defence.
In the second half, Highnam scored two quick goals through good play down the left, before Jay Singhera intercepted a goal kick and his chip just went over the crossbar. Highnam came back with two more goals down the right, leaving goalkeeper Danny Witcombe alone with two strikers to deal with.
