Abbeymead played this match with another bare seven, with players having to fill in different positions. They started the game off well, with some good battling play through debutants Cobie Ho and Danny Witcombe. Matt Kent kept Cleeve out with three brilliant saves, after leaving his normal position of right midfield to play in goal. He was finally beaten when a quick break left him with three attackers through on goal. Cleeve quickly made it three before Oliver Pritchett made an outstanding tackle on the edge of his own penalty area, and dribbled the ball to the edge of Cleeves penalty area before a shot just went the wrong side of the post.
In the second half, the majority was played in Abbeymead's half. Cleeve got some well-worked goals through the middle. Abbeymead created some good chances but Cleeve's attack proved too strong.
