Brockworth Albion 0 Abbeymead Rovers Hawks 15

Mid Glos Mini-Soccer League
Saturday 22nd October 2005

Ben Langworthy opened the scoring within the first few seconds. From the kick off Clayton Dee won the ball and his pass was fired home by Langworthy. Minutes later, Langworthy returned the favour by setting up Dee for the second. A lovely move started by Elliot Obee saw Jamal Lawrence cross for Dee's second. Langworthy made it four with a strong run and shot. Lawrence went close twice before a strong cross shot made it five. The best goal of the game was a fantastic move started by Josh Cannon's tackle and pass to Obee, on to Joe Wilton, on to Langworthy whose cross was turned in by Lawrence.

The second half belonged to Clayton Dee - he scored another seven goals to take his tally to twenty-seven in the last four games. One was a superb header from an Obee corner: Lawrence, Wilton and Langworthy all setting him up for the others. Elliot Basford was superb in defence for Abbeymead throughout - calmly winning the ball and distributing it accurately. Together with Cannon, they protected their keeper, George Hall, who was rarely called into action but had to make an excellent save near the end. Langworthy also completed his hat-trick and Joe Wilton completed the scoring following Dee's unselfish pass. Brockworth battled until the end and never let their heads drop.
