Abbeymead U10A Match Report 11th March 2006
ABBEYMEAD ROVERS A 4 LYDNEY A 0
Abbeymead A overcame Lydney A in a tough and very competitive match to maintain their championship hopes.
Bradley Vanstone scored the first after 9 minutes to settle any nerves Abbeymead may have felt, with a supurb strike from a tight angle. Luke McMahon added a second after 22 minutes.
Rovers proceeded to hit the woodwork three times before Ross Martin added a third and a second for Vanstone completed the scoring.
Although the Rovers defence was solid throughout the match, their keeper Sam Goodchild had to be on his toes to foil a 3 or 4 one or ones during the game.
